The MacBook Neo is a real MacBook at a price that genuinely didn't exist before. $599 for Apple build quality, macOS, and a capable A18 Pro chip is impressive. Battery life (12 hours) and the 72% DCI-P3 display are real trade-offs compared to the Air, and the 8GB RAM ceiling is limiting in 2026. But if $599 is your budget and your use case is light, this delivers the core Apple experience.
